Still looking for a language to learn this year?

Posted by Peter J. Jones on

It’s hard to believe the year is wrapping up, a constant reminder being all the Christmas decorations on sale (next to the Halloween decorations, which is weird). If you’re looking for something to do while taking all that copious holiday vacation time why not learn a new programming language? It sure beats listening to family members argue over politics.

To get you started Michael Fogus has written a couple of articles he calls Perlis Languages:

A Perlis Language is a programming language that I believe will shake one’s views on software development to the core.

The first article contains an overview of 9 programming languages, with the second article covering an additional 14 (with brief mentions of another 12).
